Hope the following statistics is of interest for the Maple community. Here are some data concerning the numbers of downloads of unlicensed copies from one of Russian torrents (see scrn1.doc , scrn2.doc , and scrn3.doc):
Maple 14 - 11.427
Mathematica 7 - 21.137.
In fact, the quantity for Mathematica 7 is  a few thousand less as version 7 was replaced by version 7.01.
This means that Maple 14 is quite competitive with Mathematica 7. It is a good news.
The bad news is that those copies are not licensed. I think that the Maplesoft dealers in Russia, Ukraine, and other NIS should sell low-priced versions of Maple (home and student editions) on a broad scale following Microsoft's strategy.
