Maplesoft offers a series of Web seminars on various topics relating to its products (see Current list of Web seminars ). They range from specialized technical topics to more promotion-oriented product demonstrations. There's a couple coming up shortly that I wanted to draw your attention to: November 2: Modeling Multibody Mechanical Systems with DynaFlexPro. John McPhee (University of Waterloo), the inventor of DynaFlexPro modeling system and a prominent researcher in generalized physical system modeling techniques presents and demonstrates the new add-on modeling product for Maple (see DynaflexPro announcement). This seminar will be of interest to anyone working in dynamic system modeling. November 9: Implementing Technology in the Modern Math Curriculum presented by Robert Lopez (Emeritus professor from Rose-Hulman Inst. of Tech.) and yours truly. I'm going to be doing a bit on the general product line. Robert is the true star here and anyone who's ever heard him speak can attest to the passion and life he brings to this topic. For those of you more interested in the teaching side of Maple use, this is a good chance to hear a seasoned veteran. The WebEx seminar format allows for realtime visual and we have a conference call service for audio. You'll be able to ask questions as well as hear the presenters. For many parts of the world, the call is a free call but alas, in some regions, the conference service does not support a free service. These are free seminars but you will have to "enroll" following the directions provided in the above links. I'm going to continue to post notices of interesting seminars not as some marketing ploy but for genuine information for this community. I'll select ones that have good technical content and relatively less hype. Fortunately I do have some insight into the content of these and I'll try my best highlight the best ones. Tom 4.
