A GC (Graphics Calculator) still has the advantage of portability. The TI89 has a lot of advanced features but, nowhere close to a package such as Maple. If Maple came in a version for the PDA (hint…hint) then, a GC would be out the window. But, for now GC still has a place, in my opinion. Side note disadvantage is learning / maintaining two calculation methods.
If there is an ellipsis on the pallet I did not use the short cut. In the equation I just typed x=-10...10 (just three periods.) If Maple needs .. two periods to define the range then I assume Maple read what I typed as -10.. .10 -10 to .10 which conisides with what the plot displayed. Let me see, if I used -10... 10 (add a space before the right limit)then it would be fine? I don't have access to Maple right now so I can't test this till tonight.

Once it was pointed out I see that Maple was interpreting the range as -10 to .10 not -10 to 10 as I intended. This explains why I was only getting the third quadrant displayed in my plot. I'm more familiar with Mathcad that has a range button [m..n] that allows you to fill in the place holders, it would have taken me a while to even notice this error. Also, semi-colon I have to get used to adding those. Thanks again.

I knew it was something simple, one dot to many... Thanks
