Robert, I actually turned your algorithm into a procedure such that I can use it to search near any value in a more general sense instead of only 10,000 since I need to repeat this style of calculation later in my analysis. Joe, I had considered sorting and searching the list previously, as in your suggestion and now you have generously given me the means to do so. I will implement your algorithm in a different portion of my analysis where my lists get much larger in size and perhaps sorting first will prove advantageous for speed.
