Thanks, your uploaded M1.XLSX was helpful.  I did try your suggestion but it made no difference.  In case it's relevant, the software and OS in use is (are?)

1. I would like the matrix to show Vb and -log(H1) or alternatively a second matrix showing V_b and -log(H1).  In chemistry -log(H) is pH or more strictly pH = -log([H⁺]) where [H⁺] is the hydrogen ion concentration

2. What if  I want V_b to range from 5 to 15 in steps of 0.2 or even better but perhaps too much to ask for (as an example)

0-5 x 1.0, 5-9 x 0.5, 9-11 x 0.1, 11-15 x 0.5, 15-20 x 1.0

3. Can I plot a graph of pH (y-axis) against V_b

4. Can I export pH and V_b values to Excel

Thanks for that Tom.  However if I use these parameters

params:=[C__a=0.1, C__b=0.1, K__a=1.74*10^-5, K__b=10^20, K__w=10^-14, V__a=10]:

I get an error unexpected '- '

Also if I try to use j = 1..20, only the first nine rows of the matrix are shown
