Thanks, Jacques. I already have a numerical code in Matlab to solve this equation but I have been trying to have an alternative in Maple which I like much better than Matlab. I can write exactly the same numerical method in Maple but I do not want to do that. That does not give me an alternative. I also tried dsolve/numeric but it gives all the values in my defined range as zero which is not right. Any suggestions to why? G.

I know that it is very hard to solve this eq. algebraically. I also know that you can write this eq. in discrete form and get a matrix equation in the form of Mx=N and solve it using one of the numerical methods (Gauss-Seidel etc.). To be more specific, how can I convert this to a matrix equation discrete form) and use a numerical method by Maple? I know that this question is kind of generic as well but I just need the steps to follow. By the way, I did not use gamma, actually. I think I used gamma_z. Thanks, G.
