Patrick, thanks for pointing out the tickmarks/thickness problem. Indeed, this did work in Maple 11 but is now broken in Maple 13. I'll make sure this problem is added to our bugs database, if it isn't there already, and it will be addressed in a future release. I'm afraid I can't think of a different workaround you can use for the Classic GUI, except for what Alejandro had already suggested.

You can draw many of the objects available in the geometry and geom3d packages using plottools. If you replace the geometry[triangle] call with the following:
> b := polygon([[0,0],[0,4],[7,0]], thickness=4, color=red, style=line):
and add the scaling=constrained option to the plots[display] call, then you don't need to use the geometry package at all.

Yes, indeed there is a bug with processing lists of HUE colours. Thanks for spotting this. I've added the report to our bugs database and we plan to get it fixed for a future release.

Contrary to what Jacques claims, I'm quite sure that many of us here in R&D would be happy to hear the thoughts and experiences of the award winner, and we would give these views proper consideration. I wouldn't worry too much about "history". The company has evolved over the years and there are many new people here who would benefit from exchanges with an experienced user. I've been at Maplesoft many years, but I still find it valuable to talk to both new and experienced users and try to see things from their point of view. The product itself has evolved so much that certain views I'd held several years ago are completely changed today, because of the different circumstances. So, if you've been nominated, please don't pull yourself off the list because of "history". On the other hand, I can understand that a visit to Waterloo would not be as novel or exciting to Jacques as it would be for some others. :-)

I would urge all users to report bugs when they see them. It really does help us develop a better product.

There are indeed people at Maplesoft who try to monitor the forums and record bugs, but frankly, bugs can get easily missed. Many bugs are exposed in lengthy threads after much discussion about whether certain behaviour is truly buggy or not. Other bugs are mentioned in passing in discussions about unrelated topics.  I much prefer to have a bug reported directly by the person who had encountered it than have it reported second-hand.

Apart from those employees who maintain MaplePrimes, there are several Maplesoft developers who participate regularly. However, it is a bad idea to rely on us to record bugs. First, monitoring MaplePrimes is not part of our offiicial duties, though we are definitely encouraged to participate. Our primary duty is to develop and maintain Maple itself. Many of us participate on our own time or we take time away from our development work to do so. Our managers generally trust us to use our time wisely and as we see fit, but alas, there are deadlines to meet and bugs to fix. So developers come and go, and they participate when they have time, which is not always.

There is no obligation to you, as a user, to report a bug, and mentioning the bug on MaplePrimes is certainly better than not reporting it at all, as there is a chance someone will see it and report it for you. However, the only guaranteed way to tell us about a bug is to use the "Submit Software Change Request" link or contact Maplesoft Support.
