This solves my problem nicely, but can't say it is user friendly, i.e. I definitely needed help to find it!

I will spare you the details.  My example was indeed just an example.  I have such a loop.  Each pass through takes a long time and the computer often crashes before i get where I want.  Nice to have a partial answer left when it does.  The variable I use is already an Array, so this saves me having to figure out how to change the name of the array each loop.  Anyway, this works, and is much appreciated.
