the problem. What I'm looking for is the upper/lower bound as a function of c and j. Consider a simple example, the upper bound of c-1 is c, for any c. Can we get similar upper/lower bound for the formula? For example, it looks to me that 1-1/c is an upper bound, although it is not clear how tight this bound is. We would like the bounds to be as tight as possible.
