@Markiyan Hirnyk

Thank you for your comment, Markiyan. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit, so I don't know if the problem is also present when running on Windows 10 32-bit.

@acer

Thank you very much for your comments, Acer. I'm very impressed! At least I now understand the root of the problem.

Best wishes,
David

@tomleslie

Thank you very much for your comments, Tom. I've now tried Maple 18 on my Windows 10 laptop and the plot looks fine. I don't currently have access to Maple 2016, so I can't try it yet.

@Preben Alsholm

Many thanks for confirming this issue, Preben. I was worried that I might have a problem with the graphics hardware or driver on my Windows 10 laptop because the Maple 18 that I used is installed on my old Windows 7 laptop. The fact that the plot looks ok in Maple 2016.2 and Maple 18 on Windows 10 on your machine certainly demonstrates that the problem is with Maple 2015.2.

Apologies for posting the same information twice. I've not used MaplePrimes before and it took quite a while for my first response to appear. At first I thought that I had messed up somehow, so I tried again. After my second response didn't appear immediately I realised that it must have gone to a pool for moderation.

Best wishes,
David

Since the visual appearance of the plot seems to depend on the version of Maple that I use, I've uploaded a pair of PDF exports as well as the worksheet. The PDFs match the appearance of the plot in the corresponding Maple worksheet browser.

Here is the worksheet: example_clipping.mw

The plot should look like this: example_clipping_Maple18_Win7.pdf

However, on Maple 2015 on Windows 10 it looks like this: example_clipping_Maple2015_Win10.pdf

@Preben Alsholm

Thanks for your advice, Preben. I've uploaded the worksheet. Since the appearance of the first plot seems to depend on the version of Maple (and maybe the version of the OS or the graphics hardware, but I've not been able to check that), I've also uploaded two PDF exports.

The PDF "...Maple18_Win7" is what the first plot in the worksheet should look like, and is the result of exporting it from Maple 18 running on Windows 7. The PDF "...Maple2015_Win10" is what the same plot looks like when I export it from Maple 2015 on Windows 10. Both plots look exactly the same as the PDFs in the corresponding Maple worksheet browsers (i.e. the Maple 18, Windows 7, PDF matches the output when viewed in the Maple 18 browser and the Maple 2015, Windows 10, PDF matches the output when viewed in the Maple 2015 browser).

The worksheet is here: example_clipping.mw

The two PDFs are here: example_clipping_Maple18_Win7.pdf example_clipping_Maple2015_Win10.pdf
