@Jjjones98 thanks for your question. This is a Springer Conference Proceedings publication, so it's not a journal. You wouldn't be able to list it as a journal paper. 

While there are going to be some metrics affected by spam, as would be typical of any forum like this, the general trends are accurate, and our trends indicate participation levels that are increasing, not declining. The point of my post above was really to demonstrate that you are most definitely reaching new users, and the content you provide is viewed by thousands of people over many years, which is something I thought everyone would like to know.

Yes, the reference he refers to is an older publication. This student does however use the most recent version of Maple. It seems that as a result of his enjoyment of Maple, he researched its history and came across this publication. For someone wanting to learn Maple procedures, this publication, although dated, is still a good resource. We have however pointed him to a more recent publication, i.e the Maple Programming Guide, available in our Documentation Center.
