An option to display the force components instead of the vector resultant in the ForceArrow block is on our "to do" list. Not sure when it will appear.

 

 

Tension (or compression) is essentially the force between the mass and the rope, keeping them attached, so you can insert a Force probe from the 1D Translational components, or the multi-body components if you need to study a system that is 2 or 3D.

You'll need to incorporate a contact and friction model to do this. There are no contact models built-in but there are several contact models as custom components in the examples in the Model Gallery that you can use as a starting point for developing your own. For example...
