Hmmm, that was stupid of me.  I'm trying to solve for e1(r) through e8(r).  I didn't realize they hadn't been differentiated in my worksheet.

Is there any way Maple might use a different method to solve the system such that it will have a unique solution for each variable?

I have plugged the solutions in and made sure they work, yes, I now wanted to reproduce them so that I know what I'm doing is correct, so that I can then put these equations into a different gauge and then find new solutions that will be more complicated.

I have never used maple to solve pde's, so I'm not sure what the casesplit feature is, but I will look into it, thank you very much!
