Will Spaetzel is a Software Architect in the Maple T.A. Team at Maplesoft.

He started at Maplesoft in May of 2004 for a 16 month internship while completing his Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario. During his final year at UWO, he continued on as moderator for MaplePrimes. He joined Maplesoft full-time in May 2006 and moved to the web team in Jan 2007. In December of 2010, Will moved to the Maple T.A. team. 

Will was born and grew up in Ontario, Canada. He maintains a personal blog, dabbles in photography builds web applications in his spare time.

I've had no problem posting files on the new MaplePrimes. We want to make sure that it works well there. Doug, can you please experiment with uploading images in the beta site? I'd like to make sure that nothing with your setup causes problems uploading files.

 Right now, the easiest way would be for you to e-mail Me (wspaetzel@maplesoft.com) Bryon (bthur@maplesoft.com) or Rick (randrade@maplesoft.com).

I am currently working on the Flag feature for the new MaplePrimes, and that will include a spot for you to include a message for the flag reason, so you'll be able to use that when we launch the new site.

Aware of the issues...

 We're aware of the problems with the MaplePrimes search.

In the new version of MaplePrimes currently under development, we are changing the search to be powered by Google. This will signifigantly improve the quality of the search results.

 The options we're talking about won't appear when you are editing a comment. Only Forum topics and Blog posts. Can you try editing one of them?

Can you please post a screenshot of what you see when you click edit on a post? This is what I see when logged in as "jsmith", who has the exact same permissions as you, Doug.

No concept of "read posts"...

We still are not planning on recording which posts users have read or not.

However, the new site will produce many RSS feeds, so you could add the feeds to an RSS reader, which can you can use to track the posts & questions that you have read.

 Magdelena, can you please try logging out and then going directly to http://www.mapleprimes.com without clicking the link in your welcome e-mail? Please log in with your user name and not your e-mail address. When you log in with your e-mail address, it uses the password you use for Maplesoft.com, changing your password on MaplePrimes does not change that password.

 How are you logging into the site? Are you clicking on the link in the welcome e-mail each time? Do you still get the same problem if you go to http://www.mapleprimes.com directly?

 Yes it looks like the table is incorrect.

However, with the new MaplePrimes under development, the concept of Maple Rank will be very different, so we won't be worrying about fixing the inaccuracies here.

 While we aren't currently selling any Maple t-shirts, you can download hi-res logos and graphics for Maple and Maplesoft in our Media Center.
