The correct answer (which I have seen) is that the equation will be: y=6,89x - 7,1

and when I simplify nothing happens. I wrote "simplify" but nothing happens

@acer  ok i defined my function thus: f(x):=-ln(x)+exp(x) 

and i wrote y=f'(2)*(x-2)+f(2) and i got this crazy answer y = (-1/2+exp(2))*(x-2)-ln(2)+exp(2)

which is not the correct answer :-( what am i doing wrong?

x -> -ln(x) + exp(x)

Hm.. I dunno if you maybe misunderstood me. Here's a pic of my equation besides this I am using the danish version of Maple if that helps

Now, the task is I have to find x=17

So, I just have to do what you did? 

And, we use "solve" I dunno if eval is the same?
