i tried both ways. as functions and as expression (as in f := x -> x^2 etc. and f := x^2 etc.). the problem is that when i tried to convert it into partial fractions it would just print out p/q rather than the actual fractions. when i tried converting it again it said it was irrational. but i will try your method with fullparfrac.
