I tried both of your proposals, but got neither working ;(

The Box is a good idea, but I still have the problem of not having access to change the view during the display when typing display(Box, insequence=true); Even when I integrate the option view=v(i) into the plot3d-command and add this to the Box it doesn't work. The view is fixed to the view of the first frame.

The animate3d approach seems to be limiting in the sense of not having control about the range of the axis. Since I want to really zoom in, i.e. narrow the range down nearly to a point, this is also not exactly what I was looking for.

Did I get the ideas of your approaches, or did I misunderstand something?
