Thank you for replying to my post.  When I tried value(f) it just returned the same line but with a blue "d" instead of a grey one, but now I understand what _z1 means.  The sequence function mentioned above seems to be a nice trick to see what the ODE is evaluated at at different values.

And I am now aware of the proper way to submit my code! Thanks again for your reply.

@tomleslie

I'm totally new here and I appreciate you telling me about the upload button and the right way of doing things, it was silly that I didnt realize it in the first place.

To clarify the what I am trying to achieve, it is a cosmology problem that is asking to numerically integrate the evolution of a density fluctuation in a model with Ωm=0.3 and Ωv=0.7.  I am trying to find the amplitude of the fluctuation at a redshift of z=19.  I had to start with the equations of motion of an ideal fluid and do a lot of manipulating to get it into the form I had posted earlier.  I'm not very experienced with Maple, so my main concern was what this _z1 symbol meant and how I could go about getting the information I need from the ODE assuming it is correct.

Thank you for the sequence function, that is a very cool way to troubleshoot that I hadn't know before.  And thank you very much for looking at my code.

I am not sure if the code attached correctly, here is a link to it if it did not:
