It seems to miss a part on the piecewise given here and I don't find it... I understand the idea to decrease suddently the radius of a additionnal small cylinder at each end but I'm stick on the way to translate it into piecewise conditions.

Anyway, the fact that the cap is not flat is not a probelm, on the contrary, as you said it loooks like more like natural fibres or sugar crystals. Finally it's better.

Wah, amazing work ! I was desesperating to plot the 360.000 surfaces... So thanks a lot !

It seems to work perfectly on Maple16 so I'm now able to describe a colour evolution on a proper background without need to create manually thr gif animation, slide by slide !
