By using the add command instead of the sum command, I was able to eliminate the infinities and complex values (as was suggested above).  The resulting animations are pretty cool!

This is exactly the issue I have.  These quantities are real and finite, so I am not sure why Maple is evaluating them to be infinite and complex.

Thank you so much dharr!  That worked perfectly.  I will have to think of using loops more often in Maple.

My apologies...it looks like I forgot to copy that line of code.  

This is the weighted L2 error.  I am not very familiar with the proc in Maple.  I was thinking that since it was define as a function of n this would be ok.

Why would add be more advantageous to sum?
