@mmcdara Thank you very much!

@Mariusz Iwaniuk Thank you very much. Both syntaxes work in Maple 17 as well. My conclusion is that the formula is wrong.

@Carl Love  Yes, I think you are right. Numerically it seems to me that the sum is exp(1/x), not exp(x) as the formula claims. Is that your conclusion as well?

@Mariusz Iwaniuk Thank you very much! It seems to me that the right-hand side is exp(1/x), not exp(x) as I claim. Is that your conclusion as well?

@Carl Love The hand-circled formula L(m,n-m,x) is right.

@Carl Love Yes, so we should test the formula for values other than x=1.

@Mariusz Iwaniuk You make my example work for x=1. Great! Can you make it work for other values of x as well?

I copied your code exactly. But I am only able to reproduce your numerical result for the case m=1. Have you any idea why? I have Maple 17 from 2013.

@Carl Love

Thickness of the circle? I have tried that, but the thickness of the circle is not my main concern.

The figure below is the best I can make it, but I'm not quite pleased with it: it is not easy to see the contours of the wavefunction as it is partially transparant.

Do you have any idea how to improve?

@acer

Thank you so much!

But have a look at the lower most figure. It is transparent so we can see the black circle, but it does not look as good as the upper most figure.

How can we solve this?

@Kitonum

Thank you! But using your code, it does not work. See below. What am I doing wrong?

plots:-display(  plot3d(  P_QM(x,y,0) , x=-5000..5000, y=-5000..5000, style=line, view=[-5000..5000,-5000..5000,0..1*10^(-9)], grid=[50,50] ), plots:-spacecurve([R*cos(t),R*sin(t),0],t=0..2*Pi, color=black, thickness=2), scaling=constrained, axes=none);

@vv

Thank you very much!

Best, perr7

@Thomas Richard

Thank you so much! It worked!

But I would like to controll height and width as well.

I have googled, but no success so far.

This dosn't work:

plotsetup(ps,plotoutput=`FQ2`,plotoptions=`landscape,noborder,colour=rgb,width=1750pt,height=250pt`);

Have you any idea how to solve this?

@perr7

Hi again!

How can we visualize the circle?

As you can see above, I have tried several workarounds, but perhaps anyone know how to do this in a good fashion?

Best regards,

perr7

@acer

OK, no problem.

I now know that you have received my email.

Thanks again!

Best,

perr7

@perr7

Does anyone know the answer to these two questions?

I got an email from maple@.....com, and replied, but no answer so far.

Are we supposed to communicate here or by email?

Best regards,

perr7
