I have realized the same problem as sasomao, but even working without % I still cannot simplify expressions like

-q11~ x9~ - q1~ a1~ + q11~ x9~ + a1~ q1~

which evidently vanishes.

This appears as a particular entry in a (commutator) matrix; all entries are assumed to be real.

Pasting to the command line works, however this is not an efficient tool working with matrices of size 10x10..

Do you have some idea what is going on?
