What about explicit polynom: I have to solve an engineering task: to interpolate a 3-d data and get a new explicit result. 

What about large problems: I agree with You, that this method can be use only for small-scale, quite smooth problems, because as result we have polynom (n-1) power (n - the biggest dimension of variable vector) and this fact (high power) can accumulate errors for oscillating functions.

all right,I have a gas dynamic task: to solve well-known equation p/rho=RT, R-const

  p(pressure),T(temperature) - var arrays; rho(p,T)- function array, p,T - are mutually independent vars. I need to make polynom, for example L(p,T), wich will be interpolation of given vars in middle points( make an adequate solution for each pairs of p and T). Thank you in advance!
