Thank you very much for the prompt answers. As long as I know that my system is working as designed, I can work around this issue. The suggestion made by the other poster seems to be a reasonable workaround. I appreciate his help as well.  The response from MaplePrime has been awesome.

Thank you for your reply.  I will try to be more specific about the behavior I am experiencing.

If the original plot is generated by:

plot(x^2,x=-10..10)

and then select Manipulator>Pan, hold down the left mouse button and use the mouse to move the plot as you suggest so that the range of the independent variable is x=-3..20, then the plot is moved but the grahp is not redrawn to reflect the new parameters. Specifically, the portion of the graph frorm x=-3..10 is displayed but the portion from x=10..20 is not redrawn. Even if the range of the dependent variable is changed to accomodate the new parameters, the graph is not redrawn in that region.

I apologize if this is a duplicate post.  I am just getting accustomed to the interface here and may have made a duplicate post.

BTW, there is not Manipulator>Scale selection in my implementation.  The only choices are Point Probe, Pan, Zoom In and Zoom Out.

Dr. Lopez,

Thank you for your suggestion.  I will begin to use the plot builder method in future.  However, even when I use the plot builder and insert the plot into my worksheet, the system exhibits the same behavior.  If I understand you correctly, this is by design. Another CAS system I have used, i.e., TI Nspire, updates the graph as the pan operation is completed.  That was the behavior I was expecting from Maple 2015. I do understand the advantges of Maple, but have used TI Nspire in the classroom in the past.

I appreciate your takng time to reply to a comparatively trivial question.

Thank you for your reply.  I will try to explain the behavior I am experiencing more specifically.

When I select Manipulator>Pan and hold the left mouse button and use the mouse to move the plot around as you suggest, the plot moves but the graph of the function is not redrawn to reflect the new plot parameters.  For example, if the original plot is generated by:

plot(x^2,x=-10..10)

and is then modified using the manipulator - pan tool to have x range of [-3,20] then the portion of the graph of x^2 from x=-3 ..10 is displayed but the portion from x=10..20 is not.  Even if the y range is changed to accomodate the new values of the independent variable, say y=0..500, the portion of the graph from x=10..20 is still not graphed. Even if I make these changes using the axis - properties menu item and not the pan tool, then the behavior is the same.

There is no Manipulator>Scale selection in my implementation.  The only choices for me are Point Probe, Pan, Zoom In and Zoom Out.
